Composites

Fiberglass boats are wonderful technology, but between construction inadequacies and damage from use, composite work is a fact of life for sailors and power yachters alike.  This is not DIY work, but rather something you need a highly specialized shop to perform.  Sadly, many boats we see have had skimped construction, and botched repairs which just lead to further problems and repairs that cost owners more down the road.  With our in-house composites knowledge and broad consultant network, we possess the unique ability to look at the boat as a system to diagnose your problems and fix them for good.  Our facilities, tooling and know-how are the result of over 80 years combined experience including specialized schooling  and manufacturer ceritifications that few of our competitors can match.  Our team can perform most any composite repair from basic glass patches, to recoring and vacuum bagging to structural work on bulkheads and chain plates.  Sometimes customization or modifications go beyond repairs, and our team is also able to provide custom restoration and fabrication services to make the boat you have the boat of your dreams.  

Finishes

Everyone likes a good looking boat, and we are the place to get that done.  A good paint job always starts with a strong knowledge base.  Knowing what to use where, when and how is the key to a paint job that will look great for years to come as well as knowing how to prepare for the job.  This again relates back to our finishes and composites divisions, because we are able to to diagnose and cure any causes of paint failure, so the beauty is not just skin deep.  On the how-front? The two main keys are preparation and technique.  Our team pours countless hours into surface preparation, epoxy sealing, high build primer, and other proprietary techniques to create a glass like surface that will last for years.  Our paint matching uses the latest technologies and top tier vendors in the country.  For the budget minded sailor, we are also available to do reliable fair and repaint jobs using stock colors.  

Performance Racing

When only the best will do…. We also offer the finest in bottom treatments and finishes for racing yachts.  While more costly, with a typical 40’ boat costing $35,000 per glass-like race bottom but when seconds count, we like to get you minutes.
