Max Hutter

At the heart of MermanMarine is Max Hutter, a professional sailboat racer whose passion for the water began at the tender age of 6. Max’s journey into the world of sailing was not just a hobby; it was a calling that shaped his life. By his twenties, Max had carved out a career in performance racing, establishing himself as a dedicated and skilled sailor. Norwalk Cove Marina became his home base, and from 2013 to 2023, Max built a solid reputation, becoming well-known for his meticulous attention to detail and unparalleled work ethic in the world of performance sailboat racing. Bridgeport Boatworks is Max’s second location complementing MerManMarine’s offerings with haul out, storage, crane, huge capacity crane and travel lift services.

Max's experience in the high-pressure environment of competitive racing honed his ability to maintain laser-like focus, a skill that he has carried into every aspect of MerManMarine. Just as a sailor must tune out all distractions and concentrate solely on the race, Max and his team at MerManMarine are 100% focused on making every boat they service the very best it can be. This commitment to excellence is what sets Merman Marine apart.

But Max is more than just a skilled sailor; he is a leader who is deeply invested in the well-being of his team and the success of his clients. Known for his generosity and willingness to help others, Max has cultivated a collaborative culture at MerManMarine, where every team member feels valued and supported. His leadership style is centered around living generously and with a big heart, prioritizing the well-being of his team and partners, and fostering a culture of collaboration and support.

Max's global connections, developed over years of professional sailing, feed his commitment to high-quality work, attention to detail, and beautiful aesthetics. His ability to connect with people easily on shared values has been instrumental in building a strong network of trusted contractors, vendors, and partners who share his passion for quality and attention to detail. This network, carefully vetted and nurtured, is now at the disposal of every MerManMarine client.
